Does anyone know anything of James Lufkin who owned Boone Hall in the 18th Century? Also whether Boone Hall and its land is the same property and land as Bohun Hall, which may have been subject to a spelling change at some time?

My son-in-law is a direct descendent of James Lufkin and is would be very interested to know more about Boone Hall as he is researching his ancestry.

My great-great-great-grandfather was a James Bowles and he had a daughter called Eliza, born in Tollesbury in 1814. He was described as a Steward (deceased) on her Marriage Certificate in 1846. There appear to be a few James Bowles in the area around the time. Can anybody shed any light, please?

I visited Tollesbury a few years ago whilst doing some research on local history and my family tree,I met some very helpful people in the church who thought that a local archivist was compiling a record from the parish records of the residents in the past.I was wondering if that was correct and if such a huge task was completed? It would be wonderful if it was so and it was possible to access it in some way.I look forward to your reply , Thank-you for your time. good site always wonder why old charts said tollesbury pier i couldnt see it as seaside pier,, interesting article on Creekslaier website...

P.S. I sail from Bradwell Marina, it is seems a shame that Tollesbury has no public transport if think the short sighted view of closing railways in 50's and 60, is shown at its worst by the fact that Maldon now growing had 2 stations and now has none - not very green all those car journeys to the nearest station ..
